Intercultural counselling

People who seek counselling often come from different walks of life and from different backgrounds. The need for multicultural counselling increases as populations grow more diverse. Multicultural counselling allows me to approach therapy through the context of my client’s world. This is an integral part of my professional counselling ethics.

I have first-hand experience of being from an different culture to the one in which I live, so I understand that one’s worldview, belief systems and background have a big impact on the quality of the therapeutic relationship. Learning about and addressing my client’s realities will allow me to create culturally sensitive interventions. I understand that life can be challenging, that relationships are complicated, and that stress can be debilitating.

Whether the challenge is with you, your family, your friends or colleagues I am here to support you. You don’t have to struggle alone.
